Clinical Effects of Ketotifen(Zaditen^(®)) in the Allergic Rhinitis

Abstract

|
Twenty-one patients living in the area of Honam with allergic rhinitis and positive skin test to allergens were visited to our department between April and October, 1988.
A treatment with Ketotifen(Zaditen®)2x1ug/day was administrated to the patients with allergic rhinitis during 6 weeks. Patients were provided with diary cards and instructed to score the severity of symtoms a check list every day
Good and very good results were obtained in 86% of the patients. Dry mouth and sleepiness were only observed in the patients. It is concluded that ketotifen is an effective and well tolerated oral treatment of allergic rhinitis.
